Advancing the Performance, Preservation, and Professional Practice of Storytelling
The International Storytelling Center, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, advocates for the power of storytelling by providing the knowledge, experiences, and tools to help individuals, organizations, and communities tap into the power of story.
Storytelling holds a powerful, universal appeal that can communicate truth, concept, or idea with immeasurable impact that makes a difference. To pursue our cause, ISC is advancing the performance, preservation, and professional practice of storytelling.
ISC provides opportunities for listeners and storytellers around the world to enrich and enliven their experiences, hopes, dreams, and visions for the future by engaging in the presentation of live storytelling.
To help people across the world celebrate personal, community, and cultural heritage, ISC teaches how to discover, craft, and share stories and story traditions that will live on for generations to come.
In an effort to support health and wellness, education, and community services, ISC teaches organizations, institutions, and government agencies to realize the value of storytelling by applying the age-old tradition to communicate effectively, address real-world challenges, and realize opportunities.
