Learning LibraryThe Story of the Carols: A Christmas Sing-Along
Celebrate the sounds of the season with the Jonesborough Yarn Exchange as they present some of the best-loved Christmas carols in “The Story of the Carols: A Christmas Sing-Along.” Sing along with the cast that brought you Jonesborough’s community play, “I Am Home,” and discover the stories behind the songs.
The special production will take place Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. in the International Storytelling Center’s Krispy Kreme theater. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Reservations recommended, as seating is limited.
The performance features stories and scenes about these favorite holiday carols ― where they come from, how they came to be, and how some of the songs have played an important role in history. One of the songs even brought together soldiers from opposite sides of the war in a small celebration of peace. Appropriate for the entire family, there are some terrific stories for children and maybe even a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself.
