This week’s teller in residence: Diane Edgecomb

Diane Edgecomb performs as ISC’s Teller-in-Residence August 14-18, 2012

The International Storytelling Center is pleased to welcome Diane Edgecomb from Massachusetts as this week’s teller in residence.

A dynamic storyteller with a warm presence and an elfin grin, Diane Edgecomb is known for her mythic and original stories, and is nationally recognized for her leadership in linking storytelling to nature themes and environmental education.  From the harrowing true story of her work to save the endangered storytelling tradition of the Kurds of Turkey, to elegant storytelling concerts accompanied by harper Margot Chamberlain, Edgecomb has been lauded by Publisher’s Weekly as a master of her craft.

Edgecomb has been featured at multiple venues, including the Three Apples Storytelling Festival, on NPR, and at acclaimed folk clubs such as Club Passim.

“A storyteller in the grand tradition, Edgecomb is a virtuoso of the spoken word … an entire cast rolled into one.” – Publisher’s Week

Edgecomb will appear in matinee performances at 2 p.m., daily, Tuesday, August 14th through Saturday, August 18th. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited.  For reservations call (800) 952-8392 or (423) 913-1276.
