This week’s teller in residence: Michael Reno Harrell
The International Storytelling Center is pleased to welcome Michael Reno Harrell from North Carolina as this week’s teller in residence.
Michael Reno Harrell hails from the Southern Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, where storytelling is as much a part of the culture as is music. He has spent a lifetime carrying that tradition across America and abroad.
An award-winning songwriter and storyteller, Harrell is the consummate entertainer, performing his original songs and stories described as “Appalachian grit and wit.” Always seasoned with a good dose of humor, his stories tell of first bicycles, forced piano lessons, flea market forays, and fireworks mishaps.
“Michael Reno Harrell is a classic storyteller with a voice that’s part Marty Robbins, part John Prine.” –The Charlotte Observer
Harrell will appear in matinee performances at 2 p.m., daily, Tuesday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 27th. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited. For reservations call (800) 952-8392 or (423) 913-1276.
