This week’s teller in residence: Regi Carpenter
The International Storytelling Center is pleased to welcome Regi Carpenter from New York as this week’s teller in residence.
Regi Carpenter, a fourth generation St. Lawrence ‘river rat,’ tells stories of growing up on a great river, folktales, fairy tales and musings of everyday life. She has shared her work at numerous festivals including the St. Louis and the Ojai Storytelling Festivals. A recipient of the Leonard Bernstein Fellowship for Teaching Artists, Carpenter has also been awarded the Parents’ Choice Gold award, and the Parent’s Guide to Children’s Media award.
“Regi Carpenter has a voice that dances. It can, at a moment’s notice, be light as a feather, frisk about playfully, or leap with sudden power. Best of all is the sheer joy she communicates in telling her tales.” –School Library Journal
Carpenter will appear in matinee performances at 2 p.m., daily, Tuesday, October 16th through Saturday, October 20th. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited. For reservations call (800) 952-8392 or (423) 913-1276.
