June 4 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 2:00pm, repeating until June 8, 2019

Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune Professional storyteller Anne Shimojima performs ÒHidden Memories,Ó a story of her ancestors Saturday, February 19, 2011. The Day of Remembrance marks the anniversary of the date that Executive Order (EO) 9066 was signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942. EO 9066 was the presidential mandate that ordered Japanese Americans incarcerated in internment camps. Across the nation, local chapters of the JACL hold annual events and workshops to recognize the Day of Remembrance and educate the public about the experiences of the Japanese Americans during World War II.

Daily matinee performances are presented for the Teller-in-Residence program, Tuesday through Saturday at 2 p.m. at the International Storytelling Center.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $11 for seniors, students, and children under 18 years of age. For tickets or more information, or to request a brochure, call (800) 952-8392 or (423) 913-1276. All ticket sales are final.

Season Tickets are also available for purchase.  Season Tickets for 2019 will be $175 and include entrance to one matinee performance each week – a 44% savings over regular adult admission!
