Chester Inn Museum Tells Jonesborough’s History

A new museum in downtown historic Jonesborough—Tennessee’s oldest town and home to the International Storytelling Center—showcases the town’s rich history.  Located in the basement of the historic Chester Inn, the museum contains photographs, artifacts, and exhibits that explore Jonesborough’s history, dating back to 1779.

The museum officially opened in October 2011.  It is operated by the Heritage Alliance of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia and the Tennessee Historical Commission.

The Chester Inn has also served as home to the International Storytelling Center’s administrative offices since 1997.
