ISC’s fundraiser for our 50th National Storytelling Festival kicks off in less than two weeks, on April 4. We’re excited to announce that all gifts earmarked for the Merle Davis Story Listener Fund will receive a matching donation from our friends at the Norris Family Fund until we reach a total of $5,000.
Established in 2018, the Merle Davis Story Listener Fund honors the legacy of the late wife of one of America’s most recognizable storytellers (and dear friend of ISC), Donald Davis. A career arts administrator, Merle Davis was a devoted patron of the National Storytelling Festival. She was deeply passionate about the power of storytelling to make us all better listeners.
Recipients will receive free registration to the National Storytelling Festival, entry to the Yarnspinners Party, and travel and lodging funds up to $500. Preference for recipients will be given to first-time attendees who are college students, new teachers, or librarians, but anyone who needs financial support may apply.
