Update on National Storytelling Festival 2021

ISC has been monitoring national, regional, and local COVID-19 trends since announcing our intention to hold an in-person event this fall in Jonesborough, Tennessee. After consulting the latest CDC guidelines and Northeast Tennessee’s Regional Health Department, we at ISC do not believe we can hold an in-person festival without placing our patrons, storytellers, staff, and volunteers at an unacceptable level of risk. We are presenting a virtual National Storytelling Festival this October 1-2, 2021. The virtual festival will feature 20+ hours of storytelling over Festival weekend with continued viewing access for up to 14 days following the final show. We’ll be announcing more details about the event and line-up in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned!

We look forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Festival in Jonesborough, the birthplace of America’s storytelling renaissance, next year.
