We Still Have Spots for this (Virtual) Workshop
“Healing Divides Through Storytelling” with Sheila Arnold
Saturday, February 11 at 1:00-2:30 p.m. EST
Back by popular demand! We asked Sheila Arnold to reprise her popular pre-Festival workshop on healing and storytelling — and through the power of Zoom, it will be open to everyone. Building on the use of storytelling as a positive practice in communities, schools, healthcare facilities, and religious institutions, Sheila will demonstrate how stories can help us bridge divides and create a more inclusive and equitable world.
Storytelling: A Gift of Hope
This month on the President’s blog, ISC president Kiran Singh Sirah reflects on the power of storytelling as a gift of hope and looks at some of the wishes we made together at the 2022 National Storytelling Festival:
“Stories inform our shared future. If you joined us in Jonesborough for the Festival, you may have seen the Wish Tree in the lobby of our Center. It was an interactive exhibit where we asked people to write a wish, dream, prayer, reflection, or hope on a white paper tag that was then tied to the branches of the tree.”
Check Out Our New Video Series
At the 2022 National Storytelling Festival, ISC partnered with E Pluribus Unum to create a series of videos showcasing the power of storytelling. The project celebrates the 50th National Storytelling Festival and the power of honest, frank stories around hard topics to impact people’s hearts and minds. Look for cameos from Elizabeth Ellis, Sheila Arnold, Ray Christian, Bil Lepp, and more.
