Anne Rutherford

Anne Rutherford’s enchanting, funny, and touching performances delight audiences with Pacific Northwest folklore and tales of personal adventure. Her singing and mandolin playing add to the fun, along with vivid vocal and physical characterizations such as her original Wild West alter-ego, the adventurous Clementine Ryder.

A four-time first place winner of the Northwest Folklife Liar’s Contest, she took the grand prize in the 2016 NW Tall Tales Challenge. Rutherford’s CD, The Habit of Joy, is a Storytelling World award winner. Rutherford performs and leads workshops across the country.

“One of the finest professional liars in the world.” – Portland Tribune
