Janice Del Negro’ excavates and decorates the bones of folk and fairy tales with a focus on reimagining traditional stories to resonate with contemporary listeners. Del Negro has been featured at the National Storytelling Conference, the Bay Area Storytelling Festival, the Fox Valley Folk Festival, and many others across the country. Also a story coach and workshop leader, she regularly hosts a virtual open mic, “Traditions and Truth,” and co-produces a virtual story series called “Moonshine Stories” with fellow storyteller Megan Wells. “Told in lilting, colorful language, Del Negro presents a woman with mettle enough for beasts mythical and real, while Gore’s sweeping acrylic illustrations, overlaid with a hatching of fine white lines, provide a properly spooky setting of twisting branches, cracked gravestones, and looming ravens. —Kirkus Reviews
