Sufian Zhemukhov is an award-winning author and performer whose solo show topics have covered adventures in cross-cultural dating, the politics of picking fruit, and receiving unexpected messages from Jesus while shoe shopping. A political analyst by day, Sufian draws from his unique vantage point as a first-generation immigrant, which is funnier than it might sound. In addition to winning spots in story slams at The Moth and the 2018 National Storytelling Festival, Sufian’s storytelling endeavors have been featured on PBS, National Public Radio, and Off-Broadway. In 2020, he received the JJ Reneaux Emerging Artist Award from the National Storytelling Network.
