The daughter of a minister and a musician, Victoria Burnett quickly realized that music and story were equally powerful tools of communication. She blends her skills as a teacher, librarian, singer, and performer to become what she calls a “Story Musicologist.” With a wonderful sense of playfulness and reverence for other cultures’ stories, she combines music and drama into a myriad of diverse folktales and stories for all ages. Burnett has appeared throughout the U.S. and abroad, including venues such as the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and most recently as a consultant for the Walt Disney Corporation.
Victoria’s crystalline voice takes your breath away. It takes us to a place in history that touches our souls.– Maury Sidlin, Guest Conductor, San Diego Symphony Orchestra
