Special Events
The National Storytelling Festival is Friday through Sunday, October 2 – 4, 2020.
In addition to the mainstage concerts—the heart and soul of the Festival—the International Storytelling Center curates special performances Wednesday through Sunday. Please note that many of these events are ticketed separately.
Jump start the long weekend with two exclusive early concerts held in the freshly raised tents on the Festival grounds.
Ghost Stories
Brave the Ghost Story Concerts with two different collections of frightening tales served up beneath the nighttime sky during open-air performances which are always a Festival favorite.
Midnight Cabaret
What more could you want from a Friday night than staying up late for an incredible set of stories and songs?
Family Tent
Some of your favorite storytellers will tell tales and spin yarns for the young and young-at-heart. Included in your weekend swatch, or purchase a special Friday Only ticket.
Schoolhouse Stories
Held in the Oak Hill Schoolhouse, these stories are sure to delight our youngest story lovers! Best-suited for ages 10 under, this event is free of charge to Festival swatch holders. Spots are available first come, first serve.
Storytelling Studios
A one-time only opportunity, these fascinating and intimate conversations offer listeners an up-close and revealing look at some of their favorite tellers.
Exchange Place
Explore the diversity of American storytelling at Exchange Place, featuring tellers new to the National Storytelling Festival stage.
Shop & Meet the Tellers
Throughout the Festival weekend you can come to the Marketplace to meet your favorite storytellers face-to-face and get autographs!
