We’re just one week away from the National Storytelling Festival! To help you have the best experience possible, here are some key details to help with planning.
Parking
Festival parking begins Friday at the old Jonesborough Elementary School (enter from US Highway 11-E/E. Jackson Blvd.). A shuttle will take you to Festival Registration at the Jonesborough Visitors Center:
- Shuttle begins 8:30 a.m. Friday and 8:00 a.m. Saturday & Sunday
- Runs continuously during Festival hours until 30 minutes after the last show ends
- Parking fee: $5 per car (supports local school programs)
Shuttle fee: $1 per person each way (ages 5 & under ride free)
Ticket Pick-Up
Bring your confirmation receipt or ID to Festival Registration at the Jonesborough Visitors Center, 117 Boone Street:
- Thursday, Oct 1: 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, Oct 2: 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct 3: 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct 4: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Please note: Tickets are released only to the purchaser unless arrangements have been made in advance. If your group is arriving separately, plan a meet-up time and place in Jonesborough.
- Pre-Festival concerts (Wed–Thurs): Pick up at the Library Tent, 200 Sabin Drive, starting 60 minutes before the show.
- Workshops (Thurs): Check in at the International Storytelling Center, 100 West Main Street, starting 30 minutes before your session.

Wondering where to find food, restrooms, or your tent? The Festival spans all of downtown Jonesborough with five big-top tents, open-air concerts in Mill Spring Park, plus several indoor theater venues. Check out the map here!
Program Hours
- Friday & Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Daytime sessions are one hour, with 30-minute breaks in between. You can check out the schedule to plan where you want to go!
