Michael Cotter, beloved storyteller and long-time friend to ISC, died Monday, July 31, at the age of 86. He was featured in Jonesborough many times, telling stories from life on his family farm in Austin, Minnesota. Cotter’s gifts of compassion and understanding, blended with his gentle nature, invited his audiences to look deeply within themselves to find their own stories. A nationally-known teller, Cotter was recognized by the National Storytelling Network with an ORACLE Storytelling Circle of Excellence Award.
